Savehaklu Reservoir is one of the water sources for Linganamakki Dam and was constructed before Linganamakki Dam was built. Chakra River originates in Kodachadri Peak and flows through Kundapur, gungulli in western India, later joins River Souparnika, River Varahi and River Kubja before entering Arabian Sea (west-flowing River) at Honnavar.
Due to lack of frequent public transport, tourists are requested to make their own transport arrangements to visit Savehaklu Reservoir and Chakra Dam. All tourist vehicles visiting this place are registered as part of dam security.
August to March is considered best considering reservoir will be filled with water and surrounded by greenery.
