Kundadri is a hill which has the height of 826Mt. it is completely covered by thick forests, I would rather say Rainforest. Kundadri is named after a Jain monk Kundakundacharya, hence there is a Jain temple at the top of it making it an important pilgrimage place for the Jains and Makara Sankranthi is greatly celebrated at Kundadri.
Being a pilgrimage place it falls no flat to an adventurer and nature lovers. You can be there at Kundadri only after 6 am at the gates would be locked and it opens only after 6 in the morning. Well connected and maintained tar roads leads to the peak and later you will have to climb around 40 - 50 steps to reach the top. The interesting fact about Kundadri is that it is a huge rock, and the wonder is that there is a well which is located in the top which is never dried out. You get to see so many wonders when you get deep into nature. So, I was telling you the important thing is that when are you planning to go to Kundadri. So after telling all these information, yes you guessed it right, you gotta be there for the sunrise to witness an amazing sunrise.

You can find buses to Agumbe from Majestic, Basaveshwara Bus Stand - Peenya.
Pre-Booking would be advised as you can plan your trip.
If not Agumbe, then you can reach Thirthahalli or Shivamogga and then take local buses.
If you are heading to Kundadri via Shivamogga - Thirthahalli then just before you reach Agumbe look out for a deviation just before 10Km from Agumbe. It’s to the left, take a left there and further, you’ll be guided by proper sign boards. If the gate is not open then ask for the key at a shop near the Kundadri arch. By bus nearest access would be Agumbe and further take an auto from Agumbe or from the Kundadri cross.
Nearest Railway station would be Shivamogga Railway Station and the stop id is SMET.
