Situated around 3 km from Agumbe (Also known as Cherrapunji of South India) is Jogigundi, the waterfall has a large volume of flow throughout the year. Falling from a height of 20 meters, the water flows to Varahi river.
The route to Jogi Gundi from Agumbe is a trekker’s paradise.
One can ride on the mud road, enjoy nature by trekking in woods, rock climbing, swimming and sighting wild animals. At the falls, swimming and waterfall shower both are completely safe. But one must avoid venturing too much into the deep. Monkeys, buffaloes and colourful birds add charm to the short trek. You need to take police permission to visit the place.
Lots of Leaches found here, so go with prepared. The forest is tick and you may be lost, hence get local guide while you venture into the forest.
'Jogi' means a saint. The place might be named as a saint is supposed to have meditated here. The water here comes out of a cave forming a wide pond and hence also called a cave waterfall.
If you are adventure loving and in a group, monsoon or post-monsoon will be ideal.
